New Books

With the closing of the Oxford Presbytery Resource Centre several books were donated to our church library. Here is a sample of some of the books you might like to “check-out.” You’ll find the books on the display cupboard in the library area.
  • The 500 Hats of a Modern-Day Woman – Strength for Today’s Demanding Roles. “Every modern-day woman has more roles than she ever thought she would need to manage. Whether you are married or single, the demands of our fast-paced age are often overwhelming. Isn’t there someplace you could go to learn the art of juggling so many hats?”

  • Simplifying Life as a Senior Citizen – Hundreds of Tips to Make Everyday Living Easier. “This book will show you new ways to do the things you need or want to do. Full of tips that will save you time, money and energy.”

  • Precious Days and Practical Love – Caring for your Aging Parent. This book “will help children of aging parents make the final months or years among the best experiences they’ll remember.”

  • A Wakeful Faith – Spiritual Practice in the Real World. “Deep down, many of us feel that the pace is killing us, but we do not admit it very often. After all, everyone else seems to get along okay. Something is killing us, but it is not the pace. It is the inattention to our deepest desire, the desire for God.”

  • This is the Day – Readings and Mediations from the Iona Community. These prayers, liturgies, songs, poems and articles, which reflect the concerns of the Community, can be used for group or individual reflection and are intended to inspire positive action and change in our lives.”
