Though we include all in our family at St. Paul’s, we do have some information and activities specifically for those who are families with children. We hope that you look on our website often for updates, newsletters and general information.
Please find below a link to our current edition of In the Loop. This newsletter is mailed to our families prior to each church season. Please take a moment to check it out if you haven’t received a copy already. If you would like to be included in our mailing list (either snail mail or PDF email) please drop Kyla a note at kylastpauls@execulink.com to let me know.
There is also a link to a Family Involvement Survey below. This will help Kyla, our Designated Lay Minister, to better serve the needs of you and your family. |
Technology Training |
This fall we will begin having workshops focussing on the presentation technology we are beginning to use here at St. Paul’s, not to mention other places in our world. The workshop will look something like the following: |
Introducing the Projector This brief workshop is designed to familiarize you with our projector. Learning how to plug it all in, and attach it to the laptop/computer. What order to turn the machines on and what buttons to push to actually get your computer screen to project!
PowerPoint 101 This workshop is meant for those who are curious about this program, those who would like to begin using the program and those who need to know how to build a basic presentation. This program can be used in worship services, committee and council meetings, as well as to show off your digital pictures and videos from your last trip or to build a great presentation at an anniversary or birthday party. The possibilities are endless but first we need to begin, so join us to learn what you might be able to do with this program.
Actual dates and times will be posted closer to the end of summer, Stay Tuned...

The Shack discussion group |
Please join us this fall as we come together to discuss this thought-provoking novel. Many in our congregation have already read this book and are eager to have a place to talk about the ways in which our faith is portrayed, and stretched. The discussion will be an informal opportunity to chat. Feel free to join us and enter the conversation.
If you are interested in learning more about this book, please visit the website at www.theshackbook.com. The book is available to order from the website or head to Chapters. Our hope is that this group will simply be the beginning. We would like to offer the chance to get together on a regular basis to discuss the stories that impact our lives. |
Mother Goose Program Wednesday mornings at 10am |
We are proud to be able to support a local Parent-Child Mother Goose program here at St. Paul’s UC.
Parent-Child Mother Goose is a group experience for parents/caregivers and their children. The program focuses on learning rhymes, songs and stories that they can share together. The teaching is directed to the parents with children participating as is appropriate to their stage of development and inclination. |
Vacation Bible Camp |
The Christian Development Committee is excited to begin planning for a VBC in the summer of 2010. If you are passionate about having fun with children while they experience God in their community, please get in touch with Kyla, our Designated Lay Minister at kylastpauls@execulink.com
Planning for this will begin late this fall. |
The Church we are Becoming |
This Bible study is based on The Acts of the Apostles and explores the changing church. Kyla is looking for a small group (3-6) of committed individuals who want to engage in change.
We will be in community for 2 hours each week over 7 weeks.
If you would like to join this community, please contact Kyla, our Designated Lay Minister at kylastpauls@execulink.com and we will discuss the timing. |
Creative Spirituality as a Family |
We often segregate our families by age-specific activities. In a world that has us running in a million directions let’s find some time to come together as a family, with many generations occupying the same space participating in our faith together.
Once a month, Kyla will offer that opportunity. All are welcome to join in community as we get our hands dirty learning how to let go and how to invite ourselves in to our own spirituality. Dates will be posted closer to the end of the summer. |
